Very nice modern hotel with charm!

A lovely hotel with charm.
The hotel is very close to the centre.
As it is a half-timbered building, the rooms vary greatly in size and ceiling height, but this is not a problem at all if you know about it.
We had a standard room and friends had a room with a low ceiling.
Our rooms were very tastefully decorated and super clean.
The beds seemed quite new to us!
There were two bottles of water waiting for us in the room.
We were absolutely delighted with the breakfast - the buffet was very varied, delicious salads, fresh rolls and a large variety of sausage and cheese.
When we then discovered the Mühlhausen plum jam (we are from Mühlhausen:)) we were completely delighted.
The breakfast room is furnished with small armchairs and you immediately feel at home.
The staff immediately provided us with coffee and were otherwise very friendly!
All in all, perfect! Thank you very much!

Beautifully located in the middle of the old town

Very friendly staff , the hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood of Braunschweig with many opportunities to eat or even just drink something in the evening. The rooms are clean, but there are things to improve here and there.
I would remove the shower curtain in the bathroom, clean a proper TV, and eventually remove the carpeting. But of course that is a matter of taste .

Restaurant with restaurant directly under the room

You can't park directly in front of the hotel to unload and have to walk to a parking garage five to ten minutes away, which closes on Sundays and public holidays and is locked from 10 p.m. You can drive out of the parking garage at any time, but you can't get in on public holidays.
This is not for people with foot problems, disabilities or fear of underground parking garages.
At night, there was a wild party under the window of the hotel in the Fuchsblau restaurant with techno music or Eurodance.
When the music finally stopped at 2 a.m., a couple argued loudly in the hotel courtyard and the bottles were thrown into containers.
The food transport arrived at 6 a.m., which is of course loud when the carts with the boxes are pulled over cobblestones.
The next night was without a party, as the restaurant was closed and it was relatively quiet (Father's Day was being celebrated on the square).
You can't sleep with the window open if you need silence. If you prefer a quieter place, have a disability and want to have your car right in front of the hotel, you should be prepared for this or look for something else.

Pros and cons

The room (204) was neat and quiet. Not big, but fine. The bed was terribly hard. There are roller blinds on the windows, so around 6 a.m. the sun's rays were already coming through. Not very pleasant. It is quiet there and in the morning you can hear the birds chirping. The hotel is located in the middle of the old center. Very good location.
Parking in the parking garage is NOT possible on Sundays and public holidays and you have to pay for parking in the area, but this is also only possible on working days from 9:00 am. You cannot pay in advance at the parking posts! The hotel was very nonchalant about this. We called but did not get a good answer. Unfortunately, because it was a feiertag! No one present who really knew anything about it.
The breakfast is fine! Very tasty!
Enough restaurants nearby for dining. We had dinner at Fuchs on the square. This was fine!

You can definitely go here

3 stars, that's all there is. There's too much wrong with that. Don't get me wrong: it's clean, the staff is friendly and it's in a very idyllic corner of Braunschweig. You can definitely go here. Even a second time. The end.
The rooms? Well, we had a nasty step in the room. Of course, it's an old building, that's not allowed, you'll trip over it at night. And there are other ways. Instead of cable ducts, they use hoses, the bedside lamps remind me of flypapers with their color, the bedside tables rattle a lot, not all the lights in the bathroom work, you can see behind the bed plate, ... I imagined something different when I thought of boutique.
Nevertheless, I would come back.
