Stepping into history

Perfect position and easy to get to by car. Parking very handy. Very friendly staff and clean and beautiful rooms. Taking a step back in time! Highly recommend. Would have loved to stay longer. Very good breakfast served with a smile. They all speak perfect English.

Had such a wonderful time in this beautiful town and beautiful hotel. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were spotless, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was excellent! It was a pleasure staying at this Hotel and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Rothenburg!

Perfect hosts on New Year's Eve!

We were guests at this beautiful historic house for New Year's Eve 2024, and actually a review could have been written a year earlier - if we had not been forced to cancel at short notice due to illness. Even then we were pleasantly surprised by the generous accommodation of the house, as we were not charged any cancellation costs for this. New Year’s Eve 2024 has finally worked out with our New Year’s Eve menu at the Hotel Markusturm. The entire evening was simply a treat: The atmospheric ambience in the beautiful dining room, underlined by the tasteful table decoration, the very tasty four-course menu (high-quality soup, fish fillet with saffron sauce, duck breast in Balasamic honey butter, double ice cream with pickled fruit) with accompanying, included wines that perfectly matched the dishes and were generously added. Afterwards, the hosts even invited anyone who wanted to have an espresso/coffee and digestif on the house. It was a wonderful farewell to the old year and we all felt very comfortable! But this is also due to the perfect, excellently laid out and very friendly service as well as the warm manner of the boss of the house, who said goodbye to all guests personally at the end of the evening and even made sure with a piccolo for each guest that the approaching turn of the year could be started appropriately - what lovely attention! It exemplifies the passion and dedication with which you see yourself as a host here. To hold such an event in this way is worthy of all honor, especially in times when there is a desperate search for skilled workers everywhere and many restaurants have therefore cancelled their offer. There's no question. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Perfect base to enjoy atmospheric.

The hotel is located right in the 'old' centre of Rothenburg and is a perfect base for tourists and day-trippers. The rooms are well-kept, with nice details and everything is fine. The hotel has a parking space in the village where the car will be parked for you on arrival. Breakfast is served neatly at the table and can be extended upon request.
