Good modern hotel
Check in was quick and the staff understood and spoke English well. Room was clean with a double bed but quite small as I had to move the suitcase over the bed to get it to the other side of the room, but small rooms are standard for most Japanese Hotels. The bathroom was also clean and had a nice size bath as well. No odours from the bathroom. The hotel had a fair selection of amenities and I could collect these from the ground floor.
I slept well for one night with the soft bed sheets. TV in the room was large modern, and I appreciated the good quality picture and sound with being able to view when coin operated washing machines were in use.
Hotel could not forward my luggage onto my next hotel due to this not being paid for in advance, but sign posted me to a couple of local convivence stores that could assist (both being places that are also near enough next door).
Slight downside is the hotel is not exactly close to the Kumamoto Station and so is quite a long 40 minute walk with luggage along a busy main road on one side with the river on the other, so you may need a taxi to take you the way. Then again the hotel location is close to Kumamoto castle (15-20 minute walk away).

- absolutely fine room, clean bathroom and bed linens, carpet has seen better days but not terrible!

- 5 min walk from train station and located next to loads of restaurants and malls!
- We needed 24hr parking for our bike and it was super close and cheap

- Check in was self service but staff were super friendly and more than happy to help!

- Really nice free toiletries and bits and bobs for the room available at front desk (face wash, lotion, face masks, coffee packs, razors etc)
