Absolutley amazing environment! The owners were incredibly accommodating, kind and helpful! Facilities were superb (showers and bathrooms, full kitchen, living area and outdoor space) very relaxed nature and a perfect location for seeing the city

Helpfull owner

First: this hostel use (also) name Re-Born Hostel Timisoara.
Best thing: Raul - the owner. He is really friendly and when I had some issues with my transportation to Novi Sad, he tried to help me a lot. Also communication with him during my stay was easy on WhatsApp. WiFi worked well.
But otherwise this hostel needs to be updated. It's quite worn out.

Dirty & expensive

Prices and performance don't match. Bathrooms dirty and smell of mold, mattresses finished. Rooms very dark and dusty. There is a lot of rubbish outside. Washing clothes costs €5, drying clothes also costs €5, far too expensive for Romania!
You can find better places for the same price.

The place to stay in Timișoara!

Freeborn hostel is a must when you visit Timișoara. The hostel is located right next to the old town and Raul and his wife are so friendly and such hospitable hosts. With a fully equipped kitchen, and a great outside hanging space, you can spend the day exploring Timișoara or chilling at the hostel. Raul often brings the guests to bars or local events and offers tasters of his dad's delicious home-made Palinka! I'm hoping to make my way back here in the next few years when I get the chance!

Awesome 1-month long stay in this hostel

Stayed in this hostel for 1 month with no complaints. The staff was always very helpful and super friendly. During my stay, both the owner Raul, as well as his assistant Hector, were kind enough to let me know of any places of interest and events that were happening in the area. What I also really appreciate is the fact that they were very understanding of the fact that the plane that I was arriving at Timisoara with was landing in the very early morning hours and Hector was there to check me in at 2 a.m. Also, if you manage to beat Raul in either chess, ping pong or Mario Kart, you'll get a free beer (which I didn't manage to do, unfortunately).
Overall, a great experience and great staff. Will be visiting again in the future and hopefully win a game this time. Best regards from Malta.
