Peace and quiet at Lake Murtensee

We really enjoyed the quiet location right on the lake. A room with lake view is recommended!
The reception is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired and also responds to the wishes of allergy sufferers. Sustainability is not only communicated here, but also lived out (regional products, voluntary abandonment of room service)! The proximity to the old town and the possibility to use the sea route directly without prior car journey are further plus points. We would love to come again!

Old building but ideal in terms of location and surroundings.

Overall, the building is fairly old but ideally located near the lake. We had booked the small apt. but were unexpectedly upgraded to the Deluxe apt., accessible via an old wooden hallway / staircase (outside) to 1st floor. The apt. is very spacious, the kitchen fully equipped. The view from the living room is worth it. It was clean. As so often in hotels there was little lighting in the apt. itself. The restaurant has several rooms. The first evening we had a very quiet table. The 2nd evening we sat next to a large group, very noisy. The food is good, no matter what. The breakfast buffet is more than adequate, including delicious Gruyere cheese!! The coffee is served bag by bag, which is neither really pleasant nor practical. The staff is generally very friendly (except for one lady who served breakfast on our last day, she was stressed and curt, was not really pleasant). The restaurant is only open 2-3 days a week, so we went in the evening to Murten (10' on foot along the lake), there are a lot of restaurants. Bicycle storage: not practical because with a steep staircase down. Luckily we were allowed to leave our bikes elsewhere where we could attach them. Parking is paying (15€/day), which is also not so positive! Muntelier is an ideal starting point for cyclists. The hotel presents itself as a real "bike hotel", unfortunately this does not really apply, either in terms of storage, cycling maps or other info. There was one staff member who asked a few times if everything was OK with our bikes. In summary: the negatives of this hotel are made up for by the location, the surroundings and the village of Murten nearby. Despite the fact that the hotel is on the street side (on one side), it is still fairly quiet.

Dream hotel

Great hotel, I spent 3 fabulous days with my husband. Super clean room with towel change and cleaning every day, dream lake view, excellent breakfast with sweet and savory options. Super friendly staff. A short walk from the center of Murten. I advise

Perfect.

Flawless ! Very warm, welcoming, accommodating and professional staff.
We arrived late (10 p.m./11 p.m.) with a dog. Without reservation. The staff reassured us and found a perfect room. Fair price for the season.
Magical view when you wake up. Magnificent setting. And great breakfast
Thank you for everything. We'll come back!

Fish specialties in the restaurant and in the beach house are not the same!!

My parents went there for lunch with their friends for the second time this year. Again they ordered the fish speciality. Unfortunately the side dishes didn't go together perfectly. Once with mashed potatoes and perch fillet, the second time with rice and a "strange" sauce, garlic butter for fish doesn't work! They were disappointed and unfortunately won't be coming back for fish.
I don't eat fish anyway, I would definitely come to "try" other food.
We've been to Beach House a few times. The fish speciality was well prepared with fine side dishes. Much better than in a restaurant!
