Gods price and facilities for an overnight stay.

We stopped for one night (family commitments)
Our room was clean, and comfortable. The shower was on a mains supply so it took a bit longer to get hot, fine after that.
I used the pool facilities which was a treat. Bar food and breakfast was decent for our overnight stay.
Would go again.

Buyer beware.. not a 4 star, barely a 2

Staff: Good, helpful & friendly
Breakfast: Poor, overpriced, limited
Facilities: Dated, poorly maintained, not as advertised
Room: Clean, very dated, poorly maintained
Other: WiFi never works, heating system old and extremely loud causing sleep disputation, breakfast hours limited.
Location: Average
Clearly the hotel ownership has invested little over the last 25 years, the hotel is showing it’s age badly and it’s hard to justify a 4 star rating when comparing to other hotels in the similar price bracket.
The staff are helpful and friendly however this can’t take away from the dated rooms and faculties which are not as advertised. Honestly a budget hotel with some aged features such as a pool but not in a 4 star category. Difficult to see how they advise as business friendly when wifi doesn’t work. Room spec closer to a 1-2 star motorway motel vs a hotel.
Pool / gym / spa - poorly maintained and basic, changing rooms dreadful and gym is not fit for use for anyone wanting to use for a good work out (dated and cramped) shocking to see the membership prices for non hotel guests.
Breakfast hours are 7-9 and a little later on a weekend which suits some guests in the week but not all.
WiFi doesn’t work in rooms (not business friendly). A recent edition to the rooms seems to be expensive TVs, a investment which could have been better spend elsewhere in the hotel.
There seems to be very little staff on shift throughout the day having to manage different areas.
Overall, the staff do their best to welcome guests and make the stay as good as could be, however this rundown hotel needs a serious refurb. Shocked to see the AA give 4 stars again in 2025 based on facilities offered vs the standard of them which leaves a lot to be desired. I doubt they would warrant a 4 star rating with another agency undertaking a review. Basinsgtoke has lots of new better hotels open in the last few years and the Apollo has lots of better competition in the area. Consequently, rock bottom prices for corporate stays and low room rate costs won’t help a growing poor reputation.
Sad as the Apollo always was seen as a premium hotel, not so much anymore. I can’t see this hotel surviving much longer.

Misleading website, poor management, dated and broken décor.

We stayed 1 night. A Deluxe Suite was booked but we had to accept an Ambassador room which was very dated as the receptionist said these were the only rooms with 2 beds. On the website they state "1 Super King and 1 King " for the suite so we complained and requested a refund of at least the difference. This complaint was ignored.
