Great atmosphere in the pub, food was brilliant as usual with a warming roraing fire, The game was grand too!
We brought Archie the Labrador who always loves it there at The Beckford Inn.

Sunday birthday lunch
The only good thing about our meal was the ambiance of the hotel and the company .
Coffees that were had were cold … had to wait five minutes for sugar and had to fetch it ourselves in the end .
All the roast lunches came out with everything on the plate . I did think that the veg may come out in dishes for the table . We all had to wait again for the gravy .
My brother ordered chicken and due to an up and coming colonoscopy when he arrived he passed the message on for the chef that he could only have the chicken .
We were all so shocked that literally out came a chicken leg .
I have never known a good eatery to just serve a leg ….. the money you pay you’d expect a breast or any other part of the chicken .
I really think you ought to address your menu and state Chicken Leg . Think the worst aspect was paying for a chicken leg that wasn’t eaten .

I stayed two nights for business travel, great place to stay.

Noisy Water Pump above the Alstone Bedroom
My bed was very comfortable. the room was quite small but functional. There was ample parking space in the car park.
However, there was one very significant problem which I became aware of within 1 hour of checking into the Alstone Room on the first floor. There is a powerful water pump installed directly onto the wooden floor above this room. It switches on and off every few minutes throughout the day and night. It is loud and intrusive. It kept me awake most of the night for the 2 nights I stayed there. The manager acknowledged that there had been complaints from previous guests about this noise, and that he had notified Head Office, but a decision was made to do nothing about it.
Some might wonder whether this could be akin to obtaining money under false pretences. I couldn`t possibly comment of course. But I do believe that a guest who books a room for a night(s) would have a reasonable expectation of being allowed a good nights sleep for their money. I have made recordings of the noise.
I have already cancelled a future 2 night booking at this Inn because of this experience,
