This was an overnight stay while working locally and this place was chosen for its location and the fact that it’s a pub as well. The room was nice but could do with some TLC but I was very comfortable. The bar area was a little cold but I soon warmed up with the lovely food that was on offer and the staff were really friendly and helpful which is why I would recommend this place to others thinking of staying here.

If Carlsberg did staff.....

I have to say the room itself was mediocre - lovely decorated room but not that clean and very noisy if you have a room facing the road. However the noise can't be helped as I am guessing it is a listed building which is why there is no double glazing? This can also be solved with ear plugs !
This said I have given 5 stars to my stay here reflecting the fantastic staff plus amazing home cooked food. It was a wild Tuesday evening and had to stay somewhere overnight after a delayed flight. We chose The Rising Sun trying to avoid soul less chains and it offered free parking. We could not have been looked after better. I travel a lot for work and I have not experienced such friendly, welcoming and professional staff in months - namely Molly and Pete. Plus the food was tip top - both dinner and breakfast. They guy serving the breakfast was also awesome. Kudos to you all and thank you again.

The rooms were large and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Mark the manager does a great job good leader. Proximity to airport is perfect.

Very comfortable room, nicely decorated, good temperature (not too hot, not too cold). Staff all very pleasant, must say massive thank you to the manager who was very accommodating.

Great food, great service, and would definitely go back.

Having been told the pub was dog friendly, we were disappointed that on arrival, to be told it is only in the bar area.
That said, having sorted the dogs out in a shady spot outside in the car, the staff were more than happy to provide a large bowl for water for the dogs, so they settled in happily, as did we.
The food was delicious and value for money and had options for Vegans - important as one of our party was. The beer was well kept and all in all it was a very civilised way to spend 3 hours over a lazy lunch!
