Pleasant Inn, good menu

One of two pubs in Dersinghan. The Feathers has a more 'local' feel to it. We ate here three times whilst staying in the area.
Food is good, home cooked fare with some classic dishes on menu such as suet pudding of the day and liver, bacon and onions.
Good choice of beers and food reasonably priced.
Didn't have a bad meal, shame it is not better patronised although was just after New Year.
Be sure you put your registration in at the bar to avoid parking fines.

Average

We went to the Feathers Hotel for a meal whilst visiting Norfolk for the weekend. Parking was fine, staff were friendly and helpful. Sorting out car registration for free parking was fine. The venue was nicely decorated and set out but somehow there was no atmosphere. Music was playing quietly behind the bar but no speakers around the room so you could hear what others were saying on the other tables. Food was average. I would say edible but nothing more. Presentation was pretty basic. My husbands looked as though it had been thrown on the plate from the other side of the kitchen. He said it tasted fine but not exceptional! My meal was ok. The Salmon was cooked nicely but the rest was average, warm not hot. All the side salads seemed to have been drizzled in Caesar dressing (not sure why). For the price we were disappointed. It wasn’t poor enough to complain but comparable to Wetherspoons type food.
The beer and wine was very nice.
We wouldn’t return sadly.

Excellent Choice for Bird Watchers

Chose The Feathers because of its proximity to several RSPB Reserves in the Kings Lynn, Sandringham and Hunstanton areas, Titchwell RSPB reserve is less than a 30 minute drive. The staff of The Feathers are genuinely welcoming, friendly and efficient. I ate in the bar 2 nights, found all to be good value and served quickly, not fine dining but good pub food, exactly what you’d expect for the price point. Room was clean, warm and comfortable with plenty of tea and coffee.
Area has amazing beaches, all were deserted except for bird watchers !

Miserable

What a miserable experience for a New Years Eve meal, absolutely no ambience whatsoever, a very small dark room in need of a freshening up. The owner and his wife I think she was were just so rude and unwelcoming, no eye contact, no smile, no offers of menus and she was whipping plates from tables before diners had even finished eating. We had to find our own menu to be told it was not the one and be given a grotty A4 sheet of paper. The fish pie had one piece of salmon, one prawn, one of some other fish and mashed potatoes in a small dish, not piping hot along with peas and carrots that were perhaps from a tin, didn’t taste fresh. We were not asked if we’d like a desert, actually went to the bar to pay up, didn’t bother with another drink or desert we left.

A party to remember, thanks to The Feathers❤️

We hired the Tap Room for a surprise party. The venue, food and service were absolutely first class. Everything was perfect and made it a very special, memorable occasion. Would totally recommend. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. All of our guests were full of praise.
