We were visiting our son who lived a 5 min drive away.
It was really only somewhere for us to sleep wash and have breakfast. The hotel was ideal for us. People were very friendly and breakfast was lovely.

Avoid at all cost

This hotel is probably the worst I’ve ever stayed in. We booked a night here after looking at the pictures on Booking.com, thinking it would be nice. What a shock we had! We actually thought we had booked into a completely different hotel.
When we first arrived at the room we were completely taken aback. The carpets were filthy, the bedding was dirty, and the bathroom was absolutely filthy. Toilet was covered in brown stains, a green bath, and rusty taps were just some of the problems we encountered. The bathroom radiator looked like someone had thrown feces at it.
We complained to the reception, who apologized and recommended that we move to another room. She took us to inspect the new room, and believe it or not, it was even worse than the first one.
I asked her about the state of the room, and her response was, “I’m sorry, the hotel is awful. Due to the inconvenience, I’ll upgrade you free of charge to a different part of the hotel that’s been modernized.”
If that’s what they call modernized, there’s a problem. This room looked like a faulty towers hotel ,smelled of smoke, the TV didn’t work, and the shower was moldy. The bedding and mattress had blood stains.
Booking.com should remove this hotel from their website for false advertising. The photos don’t look anything like the room, and in my opinion, it’s a health hazard.
I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to avoid it at all costs. This place should be closed down, and the management should be ashamed of their poor service.

Arrived after driving all night from Scotland for a family funeral in Reading area. Allocated rooms 3&9 the corridor had a horrible smell and the rooms looked like they required a full refurbishment. We went straight to bed as we were all shattered. The beds were clean and comfortable but the bathroom tap leaked as did the shower and was extremely noisy. Got woken up at 5am with the Fire alarm being set off, for the record this had not been logged at reception. We should have complained at the time but were too tired and straight out to attend funeral next day.

Good value, nice breakfast.

This hotel is conveniently located just off the M4 motorway Junction 12. Despite being right on the main A4 it was pretty quiet in the room. The hotel feels a bit run down and seemed almost completely empty, but received a warm welcome. Room was clean and sheets and towels clean and fresh. Bed comfortable too. Breakfast was the usual offerings with the added bonus of eggs being. cooked to order. Overall a pleasant stay.

Stinks! Literally!

OMG. The entire hallway stinks of rancid garbage. I told the front desk and the poor clerk knew about it, but was clearly helpless to do anything about it. Housekeeping had been informed, but to no avail. They were spraying the carpet with freshener, but this didn't help in the least. I told the young man at the desk that I'm my opinion, there's a room with rancid garbage that needs to be addressed. I asked for the General Managers contact and was told they don't work on weekends! Like previous reviewer suggested, I suggest you stay clear of this place until they get management who gives a crap about this unacceptable stank overrunning the entire floor! Unbelievable!
