Wonderful staff. Lovely stay

A big thank you for your kind hospitality during our stay right after hurricane Helen.
We were told to evacuate Lake lure 2 days after the storm and needed a place to stay. Your staff welcomed us and took great care of us for our 1 night stay, and we thank you so much for your kindness. The Inn is lovely and would stay here again when town gets back on its feet.

beyond dated and worn down

positives: great beds and pillows(new and comfortable and Richard at the front desk
negatives: there is a huge difference between historical charm and outdated and ran down/this hotel lost its charm many years ago/rooms are terrible and not worth a dime over $75 and that is on the high end/dark outdated carpet, 1970's tacky wall art, outdated worn down furniture, cracks all over the bathroom floor, shower could not be used (stained and dirty grout) toilets at least 20 years old
if I owned this historial hotel I would be ashamed and embarrassed to say so

The place was very cool with lots of cool antiques. Quant little town. overall, loved it.
Room could have been a bit cleaner in regards to bathroom. Not fond of tiny shower, but get that it is part of an old room.

The main building and bar are nice very lovely when you register. It was not made clear when I booked that you did not get a room in the hotel. I got stuck in a motel that was disgusting, moldy and smelled like something absolutely horrible. This was after I called and complained about the first room which was supposed to be a queen suite - it was even worse. The front desk was friendly and tried to help but apparently the main building was booked- do not stay in the “beachside motel” worse than anything I have experienced- if I didn’t have a 6 hour drive home I would of just left. Don’t make the same mistake.

What a wonderful step back in time to stay in a motel open at 1927! Motels in great shape and really clean. With a nice restaurant and bar and pool.
